Do you allow BYO?

If you have a special reserve wine you'd like to enjoy with your meal, you're welcome to bring it in. A wine handling fee of $30 per bottle applies. BYO is not available for private dining or function room events, or in conjunction with any special offer (such as the Express Lunch Special or Early Dinner Pasta + Wine Special).

Can I bring a cake?

Accepted Answer

Our pastry chef works tirelessly to create a spectacular array of desserts. If you're celebrating a special occasion, with a little notice we'll happily add a handwritten chocolate message and a candle to any dessert purchased, so the guest of honour feels celebrated. If you'd prefer to bring your own cake, a cake fee of $7.50 per person applies (cut and served). Please kindly advise the restaurant if you intend to bring a cake.

Do you take group bookings?

Our large venue has multiple flexible spaces and private dining rooms. We can accommodate a maximum of 10 guests for an à la carte dining experience in the main restaurant (conditions apply).For 7–10 guests on Friday or Saturday dinner: you're most welcome to book in the main dining room and enjoy our full à la carte menu. Accommodating larger tables requires a restructure of our dining room and additional staff, so we happily extend the usual 2-hour limit. A minimum order of 2 courses per guest applies on Friday and Saturday evenings.For groups of 10–35 guests: larger groups can be accommodated in one of our private dining rooms, choosing from our menu packages. Is there a time limit on bookings?

All bookings are allocated a 2-hour duration. If you need more time, please contact the restaurant to request it. We appreciate guests arriving and departing on time as a courtesy to the guests booked in after them. Our Private Dining Room offers a 4-hour duration.

Do you have a children's menu?

Yes! We offer a selection of kids' meals suitable for children under 12. Please let us know how many children are attending when you make your booking.

Is there parking near Vivace?

Yes, there's plenty of free parking nearby:Bay Street — 2 hours free, unlimited free after 6:30pm.Marion St / Willansby St car park — 2 hours free, unlimited free after 6:30pm (electric vehicle charging station available).Warleigh Grove — 1-hour and 2-hour free, unlimited free after 6:30pm.

Are you wheelchair accessible?

Please note the restaurant does not provide wheelchair access. Toilets are located upstairs, with an ambulant/disabled toilet downstairs. If you have specific access needs, please contact us before your booking and we'll do our best to assist.

Do you cater for dietary requirements?

Yes. We're happy to accommodate dietary requirements and allergies where we can. Many of our dishes can be adapted, and our staff will guide you through suitable options on the night.

What's the dress code?

We suggest smart casual. There's no strict dress code — we simply want you to feel comfortable and enjoy the occasion. For special evenings many guests like to dress up, but it's entirely up to you.

What are your opening hours?

Tuesday: 5pm till late.Wednesday to Saturday: 12 noon–4pm and 5pm till late.Sunday and Monday: closed.We are also closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year's Day, and over Easter (Good Friday, Easter Saturday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday).

Do you host private dining and events?

Absolutely. Vivace has three private spaces — the Brighton Room and Bay Room upstairs (which can be combined) and the Garden Room downstairs — ideal for celebrations, corporate events and special occasions. We seat 10 to 35 guests for private dining, or up to 80 for exclusive venue hire. Our functions run on set price menus with guest choices, so every guest gets their favourites. Can I book the Chef's Experience tasting menu?

Yes! Our Chef's Experience is a multi-course tasting menu showcasing the best of Chef Andrea Serreli's seasonal Italian cooking, available as a 4-course or 5-course menu. It's a wonderful way to experience the range of the kitchen — simply request it when you book, or ask your waiter on the night. See our current menu for pricing.

Do you have a wine list - and does it change?

Yes — Vivace offers a carefully curated, Italian-led wine list chosen to complement Chef Andrea's menu, with plenty of options by the glass and the bottle. And yes, it evolves — we refresh the list seasonally and add new discoveries through the year, so there's always something new to try. Our team is happy to recommend a pairing on the night, and BYO is welcome (a $30 per bottle handling fee applies).

Where exactly are you on Bay Street?
